OVERVIEW

I lead product design across two products at Securitas. MyConnect is the mobile app security officers use in the field. MySecuritas is the enterprise portal clients use to manage their security: requesting and managing service, overseeing their sites, handling billing, and controlling who on their team has access to what. Both are used by officers and clients across North America.

I joined as a UX design intern in May 2024 and converted to full time four months later. In addition to designing screens, I run user research, write requirements, and handle UX QA across both platforms, working weekly with product management and engineering on roadmap and scope.

WHAT I’VE WORKED ON

01 — Navigation, dashboard, billing, messaging, and more across MySecuritas.

Replacing phone-based workflows with self-serve experiences so clients can request and manage their security directly.

02 — A client permissions and user management system.

So enterprise customers can provision and govern their own internal access.

03 — The MyConnect officer inbox and clock-in flow.

Taking friction out of the tasks officers complete most often in the field.

04 — A geolocation integration built with Radar.

Surfacing live officer activity inside MySecuritas so clients can see what is happening on their sites.

APPROACH

Two groups with almost nothing in common.

An officer is outdoors, mid-shift, working one-handed. A client administrator is at a desk, some managing a single site and some managing dozens. Leading design for both has been the most rewarding part of the job. I’ve had ownership of these two products since I was an intern, running research and usability testing, writing requirements, sitting in sprint ceremonies with engineering, and handling UAT before release. It’s given me a lot of range this early, on products people use every day.

Securitas work is covered by a non-disclosure agreement, so no screens are shown here. The work and the reasoning are mine and I’m happy to walk through it in more detail in conversation.
